Pharmacist
Pharmacy is regulated in BC by the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia (CPBC). International pharmacy graduates enrol in Pharmacists' Gateway Canada, complete the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC) document evaluation and exams, show English proficiency, complete structured practical training through UBC's Canadian Pharmacy Practice Program, and then apply for a licence.

Enrol in Pharmacists' Gateway Canada
Enrolment in Pharmacists' Gateway Canada is the mandatory first step for international pharmacy graduates in Canada.

PEBC Document Evaluation and Evaluating Exam
PEBC evaluates the pharmacy degree documents, and the applicant then completes the PEBC Evaluating Exam. CPBC notes that exemptions may apply through a streamlined pathway.

Apply through CPBC eServices, submit the documents on the application checklist, and pay the application and criminal record check fees.

English language proficiency
Pass an approved English test listed in the CPBC Registration Committee policy and email the score report to CPBC. Pharmacists' Gateway Canada notes that test results must be within two years.

Structured practical training at UBC
Structured practical training is completed through the Canadian Pharmacy Practice Program at the University of British Columbia.

PEBC Qualifying Exam, parts I and II
Pass the PEBC Qualifying Exam Part I (multiple choice) and Part II (OSCE). CPBC states that all future Jurisprudence Exam sittings are cancelled until further notice and the exam is currently not required.

CPBC licence application, part 2
Complete the final application in eServices, pay the licence fee (prorated to the March 31 expiry) and obtain professional liability insurance. CPBC then emails the licence number.
